READER'S BILL OF RIGHTS
It is so important that educators understand and afford students a Reader's Bill of Rights. This will lay down a foundation of what is expected, and what is rightfully their choice.

Here is my personal Reader's Bill of Rights:

1. The right to help choose reading assignments for the whole class.
2. The right to read wherever in the classroom during leisure reading time.
3. The right to explore options for personal reading preferences.
4. The right to quit if not interested in a leisure reading book.
5. The right to read a book more than once.
6. The right to discuss books.
7. The right to access digital and print texts.
8. The right to escapism
9. The right to challenge oneself.
10. The right to have fun reading.
